The lead artist works with the art director to maintain the artistic vision throughout the development process. The lead manages day-to-day tasks of the team and approves art assets. They also act as the go between for the art team and art director. If the team has no art director, the lead artists assumes their responsibilities and defines the artistic vision. A lead artist has at least three to five years of game development experience.
