Quality Assurance (QA) refers to the department of a game company that is responsible for the quality control of video games. Employees in this department seek out and eliminate undesirable software defects (bugs). The priority task of this department is to eliminate as many bugs as possible in order to ship a cohesive (and playable) video game experience.

Examples of usage:

  • “The reports from QA are largely positive, though there are still priority bugs we need to resolve.”
  • ”Call QA and make sure they’re running the latest build.”
  • “QA’s swamped right now, but they’ll definitely make the milestone."
